Matthijs was just about to turn around and walk away angrily, when he saw Aunt Katrien appear behind Steffie in the doorway. In her hand she held a large knife.

Matthijs stared at the large, sharp blade, to which, to his astonishment, a green substance stuck. That could be nothing but monster blood!

Steffie, seeing Matthijs freeze, turned around and stared straight into her aunt's sparkling eyes. Steffie's eyes wandered downward, drawn by the gleam of the knife: "Well, look what I have here," said Aunt Katrien.
